Kendra Smith, MSW Supervisee in Social Work
Hi, I'm Kendra!
I firmly believe that when we work together, clients and families can overcome obstacles and improve their overall quality of life. Achieving this often requires support in areas like coping skills, communication, setting healthy boundaries, and exploring how past experiences may be influencing present-day challenges. By integrating evidence-based tools such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused strategies, trauma-informed interventions, as well as creative techniques like play therapy and sand tray work, we can create the space for meaningful growth. These approaches allow individuals, especially children and adolescents, to express and process emotions in a safe and engaging way, helping them to step into the person they truly want to be.
My approach is grounded in meeting each client where they are, and my goal is to empower you to overcome challenges such as trauma, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and difficulties with time management, conflict resolution, and boundary setting. In our work together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your unique needs, outlining specific goals and the strategies we will use to help you achieve them. I strive to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where we can explore these challenges together, moving toward lasting healing and personal growth. With experience in community mental health, family services, and child advocacy, I am passionate about working with individuals of all ages, from children as young as 7 to adults. I look forward to joining you on your journey of healing and growth, and I’m excited to work with you to create positive change in your life. I am currently offering both in person and telehealth options.
