Harper Therapy Group is committed to supporting the development of skilled, ethical, and confident clinical social workers. We offer supervision for residents pursuing licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) in Virginia through both in-house residency opportunities and external supervision services.
Heather Harper, LCSW, and Dezireh Jamshidarsani, LCSW, are both approved by the Virginia Board of Social Work to provide clinical supervision. Supervision is available in person and virtually and is designed to support residents as they develop their clinical identity, strengthen their therapeutic skills, and navigate the transition from graduate education to independent practice.
Our supervision model extends beyond simply obtaining licensure hours. Residents are encouraged to engage in thoughtful case consultation, ethical decision-making, clinical skill development, and professional growth within a supportive learning environment. Supervision sessions incorporate discussion of evidence-based interventions, diagnosis and treatment planning, clinical documentation, professional boundaries, and the realities of practicing within today's mental health landscape.
In addition to individual supervision, Harper Therapy Group offers a monthly group supervision experience that includes topic-focused discussions, case consultation, peer support, and guest presentations from experienced professionals in the field. These opportunities provide residents with additional perspectives, specialized knowledge, and a collaborative professional network throughout the supervision process.
For residents working within Harper Therapy Group, supervision is integrated into a broader professional development experience that includes mentorship, collaboration with colleagues, exposure to diverse clinical presentations, and opportunities to learn how to successfully function within a group practice setting.
If you are interested in supervision services or exploring a residency opportunity with our practice, please submit your resume along with a brief introduction describing your clinical interests, current stage of the supervision process, and anticipated timeline for beginning supervision.
Please note that Heather Harper, LCSW, is an approved supervisor through the Commonwealth of Virginia's Boost 200 Program.
