Harper Therapy Group is proud to partner with Give an Hour in a shared effort to expand access to mental health care and support the communities that need it most. This collaboration creates meaningful opportunities for our interns and clinicians to contribute their skills in service of a larger mission: helping people receive the care, connection, and support they deserve.
A shared commitment to access At Harper Therapy Group, we believe that mental health care should be accessible, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of the communities we serve. Give an Hour reflects those same values through its network of volunteer mental health professionals who provide free, confidential support to people who may otherwise face barriers to care. This partnership allows us to join that important work while creating space for our team to grow through service. Who Give an Hour serves Give an Hour began by supporting service members, veterans, and their loved ones, and today continues to serve military-connected populations while also reaching other communities impacted by trauma and adversity. Their model is especially meaningful for individuals who may be navigating stress, grief, trauma, or other life challenges without easy access to care. This includes people who may be affected by military service, as well as others in need of flexible, no-cost mental health support. By connecting clients with volunteer clinicians, Give an Hour helps remove some of the most common barriers to care, including cost, availability, and access to providers. Why this work matters The need is significant. In 2024, 23.4% of adults in the U.S. experienced any mental illness in the past year, and more than 5 million adults with mental illness were uninsured in 2022 and 2023. During that same period, 1 in 4 adults with mental illness reported an unmet need for treatment. Partnerships like this one matter because they help close the gap between need and access. Give an Hour has already made a meaningful impact through its national network of providers and thousands of referrals. It is a model built on generosity, connection, and the belief that timely mental health support can make a real difference in people’s lives. Learning through service One of the most exciting parts of this partnership is the opportunity it creates for our interns. Through supervised involvement, interns will be able to learn from real-world clinical service while contributing to a mission-driven effort. This kind of experience helps emerging clinicians strengthen their confidence, clinical identity, and sense of purpose. We are equally excited that this opportunity is open to all Harper Therapy Group clinicians. Whether someone is early in their career or brings years of experience, every clinician can participate. We see this as a chance to come together as a team in service of something larger than ourselves. Join the mission Harper Therapy Group is grateful to partner with Give an Hour in this important work, and we look forward to the impact it will have on our interns, clinicians, and the communities we serve. If you are interested in learning more or getting started, visit the Give an Hour provider page to join their network and indicate your availability and populations served.
