Insurance Benefits & Financial Responsibility
As a courtesy to our clients, Harper Therapy Group will verify insurance eligibility when possible and submit claims directly to your insurance company on your behalf. However, insurance verification is not a guarantee of coverage or payment. Your insurance company determines your eligibility, benefits, coverage, and financial responsibility.
It is the client's responsibility to understand their insurance benefits prior to receiving services. This includes, but is not limited to:
Clients are responsible for all charges not paid by their insurance company, including deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, non-covered services, denied claims, and services determined by the insurance carrier to be the client's responsibility.
Payment of any known patient responsibility (including copayments, coinsurance, or deductible amounts) is due at the time of service. If the exact amount owed is not known at the time of your appointment, Harper Therapy Group will charge the balance to your payment method on file once your insurance company has processed the claim. Clients will receive notification of any outstanding balance through the client portal or billing statement.
We encourage all clients to contact their insurance company before their first appointment to verify their behavioral health benefits and obtain accurate information regarding their financial responsibility. Questions to ask your insurance company include:
While we are happy to assist with submitting claims and answering general billing questions, clients remain ultimately responsible for understanding their insurance benefits and for payment of all charges incurred.
